Have you been riding your bike everyday?

note: People usually don’t answer rhetorical questions properly.

double note: After not blogging for 5 days, my brain kind of feels like this bicycle.

  1. I haven’t gone five days “not blogging” since I started in April. Maybe I should take a break and see if the hot air gases diminish around the globe. Where did you go on your break?

  2. I assume that you are asking a question, and it is the title character from “Day of the Triffids” that is answering?

Welcome back. Hope you had a great vacation!

  3. W1kkp. He went to hell and back (or well, hung out with me for a while and then came back to reality). planetross isn’t very good at talking about himself. You’ll find stories of kids that are handedlessness and plays on words that stray you from the reality of the main character. However, if you read enough of his stories, you eventually figure most of him out!
    Or close enough.

  4. No, my bike is not named “everyday.”

  5. Thanks for the quick comments!

w1kkp: Kelly Pettit and I drove to Matsushima, which is famous in Japan for all the very scenic islands in its bay. After returning from there, I went to Karuizawa, Nagano (outlet shopping with an active volcano as a backdrop) and Kusatsu, Gunma (more thermal activity, hotspring baths, and another big volcano with a crater lake).

jimsmuse: a good response to my question. Wait a tick! I didn’t ask any questions.

Kelly Pettit: I’ve figured me out; except for the buttons on my shirt.
I’ve told you twice now, it’s “handednessless”.

    pannonica: hee hee!

  6. You shouldn’t take vacations anymore…lol..I was very bored these past 5 days. What does this say about me?

You didn’t even post a triple note. tisk…tisk.

Glad you are back and blogging.

  7. Funny. My brain feels like that EVERY DAY! In fact, it feels unusual…..

    Welcome back!

  8. Glad to see ya back, all that’s missing now is some pictures of these places you speak of… missed ya.

  9. My very expensive mountain bike gathers dust in the garage. 😦

At least yours makes a great pic.

  10. Well, what strikes me is “outlet shopping with an active volcano”–match that Mall of America!?

The dream destination for the vulcanologist shopping addict.

Like Sweetisgirlz, I’d be missing some pictures of these places.

  11. As soon as I saw the picture of the bike, I cracked up.

It reminded me of how I “found” my wife’s bike. My friends told me about a smallish mountain bike that had been left in the exposed (to the elements) stairwell of their apartment block. It had been there (unmoved) for over a year and had started to rust, plus the rubber of the tires had rotted.

So I “liberated it”, and fixed it up for my wife.

razzbuffnik: I didn’t see your comment until I posted my comment. There are a lot of bicycles that just seem to be sitting around this city. I guess I could start a business peddling bikes.
Umbrellas are still the most neglected/forgotten/abandoned item though. I haven’t bought an umbrella for years.

  12. Thanks for all the comments.

Tammy: I think you are safe until Christmas.

    S. Le: it’s good to be back.

sweetiegirlz: I’ll try to post some photos of the trip in the next day or two. I think I have a few good ones.

Mulled Vine: thanks for stopping by. For the record, this is not my bike: I don’t own one. I saw this one in an empty lot behind Kelly Pettit’s place.

w1kkp: I’ll try to put up a few photos in the next couple of days. About 5 years ago, Asama erupted and there was ash coming down when I left work that night (3 hours away). I’ve only experienced that once before when Mount St. Helens in Washington State erupted.
