Does “Slim To None” Mean “Slim To All”?

I’ve never found a diamond in the rough,

… but I’ve found a few golf balls there!

note: actually, I don’t golf as much as I’d dislike to.

double note: I could find a needle in a haystack … with a match and a metal detector.

Today #337

Today I slapped on my slippers. Why aren’t they called “slappers“?
They kind of slap on the floor and aren’t too slippery really.

Why are chopsticks a cool gift, but not a single fork?

note: I wish these chopsticks had different names; it’s confusing. I’m not sure which one goes in which hand!

double note: I want a set that are engraved with “this side up“.

Today #255

I have an alibi for today, but not an alihello.

Symbolicking Good

In Japan, highway service area signs use the “knife and fork” symbol to let motorists know that there is a restaurant on location.

I’ve never seen the “chopstick” symbol; it must be difficult to draw or something.

note: there should be a “two hand” symbol on highway service area signs, if there is a McDonald’s there.

Today #218

I was too dazed today.

Harry Potter

It’s easy to pretend to be Harry Potter in Japan

… most of the time I have two wands in hand

… while I eat.

note: there were about 40 different “costume play” people at one of the places Mr. Pettit  gigs at … wearing all sorts of anime costumes … but these 2 were the nicest out of all of them. We interrupted them as they were eating their lunch and they happily set down their riceballs, took a quick check in their mirrors, and produced their wands for the photo.

Today smelled like summer … but I caught a whiff of January on me.

I bet people could eat faster if they used 3 chopsticks.

… and put some sort of handle on the end of them.

note: I’m never chopstick stuck … I have quite a few pairs.

double note: chopsticks aren’t really good for chopping things; … they should be called pick-up sticks … but I guess some game company has trademarked that name … or it might get confused with sticks on the ground … that someone wants picked up.

Today #164

Today was like an evolving door.

To Coin A Phrase … About Coins.

I pick up change when I find it on the ground.

I don’t need the money.
I don’t need a good luck charm.

It’s just monetary litter.

What would happen if everyone started throwing their money on the ground?

Think of the mess!

note! … total score!

double note: if money grew on trees, I’m sure it would always be winter when I went to the forest.

triple note: countries that don’t have pennies must be unlucky.

quadruple note: throw coins in the correct receptacles: fountains and stuff!

quintuple note: is a “receptacle” when you make a reception and then get tackled?

Today #62

I can smell the ocean, but I know it’s still a day away.

(the ocean is my euphemism for the weekend … I thought you knew that)

Battling Caterpillars

Last year I had a caterpillar invasion in my front yard bushes.
Big caterpillars: the size of my fingers!

I took my neighbour’s advice: pull them off with chopsticks and step on them.

After a hard week of plucking and squishing caterpillars, I had eliminated about 500 of the big buggers.
Caterpillar guts and carcasses littered the ground.
It was a real mess.

I left a few alive, so hopefully I can do it again this year.
