Lunch

As I sat in the hot spring pool, I listened to six elderly gentlemen discuss what they were going to eat for lunch.

A few were going to eat at home, one was going to try a new family restaurant, another was going to eat sushi, and the remaining two were still undecided.

One man asked me what I was going to eat for lunch.

I don’t usually think about that at 6 pm” I replied.

note:lunch! it’s not just for breakfast and dinner anymore!

double note: my world doesn’t revolve around food: my world is food! … and yours too … if you’re not going to finish that little bit on your plate.

triple note: I’ve made myself hungry. I might slip out for a late night ramen feed after posting this.

You feel good when you eat a big salad for lunch. You feel hungry and unsatisfied as well, but good none the less.

  1. a bonafide foodie…awesome. well, at least they had you thinking, what AM I going to eat for a snack tonight? Today, I got a salad at the store’s salad bar. …and forgot to put the meat on. ugh. had to settle for hard boiled egg and cheese on top.

  2. Lunch at 6PM???
Are they the hot springs where Flat Tony went???

  3. Maybe those elderly gentlemen had forgotten they already had lunch, and it was time for dinner. That happens after too much time in the hot springs.
By the way, what are those little bird-house like things at the end of each pool? Rubber-duckie houses?

  4. I agree with the elders, I wonder whats for lunch tomorrow 😦 ?

  5. Ramen is barely food at all.

  6. Thanks for the comments.

sweetiegirlz: I thought only Germans ate meat salad.
Talking about food and doing something about food are two different things.
I understood where those old guys were coming from … or where I was going … or something like that. hee hee!

Tony: no. Flat Tony went to the hot spring I usually go to. The one in the photo is about 2 hours away from here. I visited this one about 6 months ago.

Donald Diddams: I think food is a safe topic for anyone sitting naked in a hot spring.
The little bird houses were covers for the pipes pumping in the hot water.

Mental Mist: I think about lunch more often than I used to. The middle of the day seems to be more in the middle these days.
Shit! it’s midnight … and you’ve got me thinking about what I’ll have for lunch tomorrow. thanks (smiley face)

    Dennis the Vizsla:
only one mentioned sushi, but he may have been talking about his girlfriend. hee hee! (sideways glance at being non PC)

    S. Le: I agree. It is more a Nirvanic Realm or possibly better than that Norwegian Heaven.
… with gyoza, a side order of pig intestines and vegies, and rice … it becomes the thing that everything else is compared to. hee hee!
it also gives one nasty gas and bad breathe, but I can embrace those qualities.
