Basic Principles

What do you do at work?

I don’t understand the basic principles behind most things in this world.

Electronics, mechanics, computers, algebra, physics, etc        … I have no idea.

If I went back in time, I wouldn’t have too much useful information to impart.

I’d be hard pressed to make fire actually.

I’m not a toolmaker.

But …

I do understand the basic principles behind making a cookie.

I’d like to think that would count for something … maybe a tribal elder’s daughter … or a little respect at least.

note: I’ve been making cookies at work for the last week. What have you been doing?

double note: the cookie in the bottom corner of that round plate is supposed to be Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc.

triple note: I’m off for a 3 day “business trip” to Nagoya on Thursday, so there might be a bunch of entries coming on as I clean out the doodads and dribs and drabs piling up around here.

Everything you need to know, you learn from both of your parents … whether you are paying attention or not.
(quite a scary thought really)

  1. If you make cookies in class, I’d like to be a student.

You know what we did so why are you asking?

  2. Fun looking cookies! Did you scare or inspire your students with your creations?
I cheated this year and bought cookies already decorated. Cupcakes too!

  3. Those cookies look sad. I think it would be humane to to put them out of their misery and eat them.

  4. I agree with Razz, they do look sad don’t they. If you went back in time before cookies & made cookies like this it could alter the whole fabric of time. The whole cookie industry as we know it could be in turmoil

  5. Thanks for the comments.

    S. Le:I know what you did last Autumn Vacation” is a movie I’m working on. hee hee!
Most people don’t have an oven, so baking cakes, cookies, pies, … is a new experience for most. A few adult students usually want to get in on the cookie making extravaganza as well!

Tammy: the kids probably thought I didn’t use enough icing and smarties on my cookies.

razzbuffnik: I’m still digesting your comment. hee hee!

Tony: a time without cookies!!! What did people do with milk in this desolate past you refer to?

  6. It was probably a time before milk. Never seen a T-Rex with udders
