There are three stretches of road in Japan that employ an interesting method to encourage people to drive the posted speed limit. (at least for a minute or so)
Check out the youtube video here: Melody Road
I live about an hour away from the one in the video, and I’ve travelled over the other two in the past 5 years.
Do I win any prizes?
No! What a scam!
note: I didn’t mean to drive over all of those roads; it just kind of happened like baptism, puberty, and smelly feet. I’ve shaken off 2 of these.
double note: photo of the railing beside one of the roads that winds its way up to me ‘ouse. It’s not musical; but I’m sure if you run a stick along it, it plays “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love” by Van Halen. I could be wrong; I usually am.
triple note: sorry for talking like an English person in “double note”.
This is pretty cool! I watched some You Tube vids and it’s amazing what they can do with asphalt. I wonder how many ‘tax dollars’ were involved. Could have been better spent improving drinking water or something useful. imo.
note: Sammy rocks better than David. (imo again). 😛
Tammy: it is a pretty cool idea and they are fun to drive over. They probably cost a lot, but I’m sure tax dollars have been wasted in better ways before.
We will have to agree to disagree on David and Sammy.
