In My Dreams #11

In my dreams … I dream the same things over and over again

… but they are on a 10 year loop, so it’s not so bad.

The ones about flying and eating candy are the best!

note: photo not taken from an airplane.

double note: #1  and #2  and #3  and #4  and #5  and #6  and #7  and #8 and #9  and #10  are still slumbering along.

No one is ever waiting for you
… you are always early.

C-Quelling

I’m glad not every popular book spawns a sequel.

Some books are without equal … or sequels.

I’m glad to live in a world without:

Vegetable Farm

1985

Pitcher in the Rye

Slaughterhouse-Six

Off the Road

The Executioner’s Song (extended remix)

In Warm Blood

Two Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

Oliver Shout

The Adventures of Tom Seenyer (possibly Tom Seeyer as a prequel)

To Kill a Bunch of Mockingbirds

The Deaf Assassin

Johnny Got His Bigger Gun

Moby Harry  (possibly Moby Tom as a prequel)

The Sun Also Sets

Humble and Accepting

The Razor’s Twin Edge

Atlas Gets Two For Flinching

The Last of the Mohicans: The Next Day

Stranger in a Strangerland

.

note: who was this Ernest Heming anyway?

double note: yes I know there was more than one Tom Sawyer book, but it was such an easy one!

.

Graham Greene the author is dead. Don’t keep looking for more books by him.
Graham Greene the actor is still alive … I don’t know if he’s written any good books though.

Logging And Blogging

Posts are from logs
and
Posts are from blogs

“How many?” requires
Pollsters and surveyors

To make polls about postings
or
Make poles out of post things

and

Enter statistics
On memory sticks
or
Print their findings
On things that need bindings.

note: a little blog cabin in the cyber wood be nice.

(no that isn’t a typo)

double note: I have a totem stick.

triple note: I rhyme loosely … don’t think of me obtusely.

quadruple note: the guy in the photo is a snowman tamer … or is possibly trying to wake that lazy snowman up.

Your strengths and weaknesses are very far apart … sadly.

Some Days #4

Some days the middle of the seesaw looks pretty good.

note: swings go both ways.

double note: why aren’t swings called swingswangs?

triple note: the other Some Days are still here  and here and here.

When you grow up … nobody tells you to go to bed early.
… you just do it all by yourself.

Absentences … And Other Dangling Particulars

I guess I can tell you the real reason why I took some time off from blogging.

I needed time to deal with an addiction.

My name is planetross, and I am a gambler.

I was gambling all the time: at work, at home, in the supermarket, on the street, …

If I was awake, I was gambling.

It was getting out of hand.

I’m better now. I quit cold turkey.

Now I just walk.

oh!

Did I say gambling?

I meant gambolling.

note: at Gambolling Anonymous people don’t say “Kick the habit” … or do “12 Step” programs. They don’t skip anything either.

double note: How much does the fisherman bet?

triple note: quitting cold turkey is a stupid expression. How could anyone quit cold turkey? … it’s so delicious!

quadruple note: it’s okay for little kids to gambol … or gamble …or gumball … or something like that.

.

notes to myself #134

Gambling is not an addiction you have to worry about.
