If I were a songwriter, I’d put the word California or London into every song.
These 2 place names seem to appear in an awful lot of popular songs.
It must be a mental image thing.
Wyoming, Vancouver, or Dorset just don’t conjure up any images, like California and London, for most people.
Red Hot Chili Peppers knew what they were doing with Californication. California in the title with a sexual reference and London mentioned repeatedly in the song Emit Remmus: “London in the summertime …”
note: original “brain fart” for this idea belongs to Kelly Pettit.
double note: I thought this was an original thought, but I was wrong. Check out Arwononline to see which place is mentioned more often in a song title (unofficially). http://www.users.bigpond.com/arwon222/londoncalifornia.htm
triple note: photo of Aaron from the Broken Condom Babies at the Kelly Pettit ”FUEL: Live At The Bunkakaikan” after-party.

It never rains in California
But girl, don’t they warn ya
It pours man it pours.~Albert Hammond
Yes, it pours:
criminals
gangs
drugs
illegal aliens
ego maniacs
road ragers
high prices
b.s.
triple digit temps
wild fires
truant/incorrigible kids
taggers
only song about California I know… and it’s tru.
