I Am The Cheese

Vial of Life

April 22, 2008 · 4 Comments

Some people have a small cannister in their fridge that contains important medical information. Paramedics could possibly use this info to save your life.

My sister isn’t that much of an optimist: she keeps a copy of her Will in the freezer.

If I had a Vial of Life, the note inside would say:

What are you doing looking in my fridge? Shouldn’t you be doing C.P.R. on me, injecting me with something good, or using those paddles to jumpstart me?

If you find me in a compromising position, fix me up and keep the enclosed $100.

P.S. Help yourself to the beer.

I just have “Do Not Resuscitate” tattooed on my chest.

Makes things simpler for everyone, and leaves room in the fridge for healthy fruits and veggies!

Why the fridge? Most people only have a will for 20 or 30 years, so strong paper should hold up to normal rates of decay right?

I guess if other Will copies get mixed up with other documents, misplaced or overlooked; the one in the freezer will be found eventually when things start to get cleared out.
Unless it’s and ice cream Will. Yum!

The freezer?! Never heard of it.

Me, I think a girl should cross-stitch her will into a mighty fine sampler. You know the kind with the flowers and trees and house with curlique smoke? What goes better with that than legal-ese? Hang that beauty over the fireplace when it is done. That way, everyone who enters will admire both your foresight at dividing your estate, your skills with a needle and thread and the ease by which you can remove your relatives names when they piss you off: just take the thread and unravel!
